“I became fascinated in woodworking at a very early age by helping my Dad build projects around our small ranch in Virginia. Whether it was entertainment centers or horse barns, I was always ready to lend a hand, hold a board… and learn. Over time, I used what I learned from my Dad and complemented those skills with ones that I learned on my own or from a few master craftsmen I was lucky enough to meet and work with along my journeys.
I love to learn and, believe it or not, I love to make mistakes. Admittedly, I might not feel that way in the moment and, admittedly, tools may be thrown when I learn I’ve made a mistake but each mistake means that I’ve learned something. That also means each subsequent project will be better and, don’t worry, I fix the mistakes before they leave the shop.
Well, it’s where I came from, what we build and, most importantly, who we serve!
I moved from a small farm where we had chickens and horses and, of course barns, to the water of Tampa Bay. Growing up, I built chicken coops, barns, sheds and horse stalls with my old man and, while I still can and do build all those, now I build farmhouse furniture, decks, docks, outdoor living space and so much more.
Lastly, we serve the entire Tampa Bay community, from the barns out in Plant City to the Bay and beaches, so I think Barn to Bay suits us perfectly!”
